Sono state annunciate le nomination agli MTV Video Music Awards 2020 – L’evento si terrà il 30 agosto al Barclays Center di New York e da varie location iconiche dei cinque i distretti della Grande Mela, il tutto nel pieno rispetto delle norme di sicurezza per pubblico, artisti e addetti ai lavori.

Ariana Grande e Lady Gaga hanno rivenuto il maggior numero di candidature: 9 a testa. Seguono Billie Eilish e The Weeknd con sei ciascuno.

Dopo la Pandemia Covid-19 che ha scosso il Mondo, gli MTV VMAs hanno deciso di introdurre due nuove categorie – Best Music Video From Home e Best Quarantine Performance – per premiare la creatività degli artisti che hanno continuato a fare musica e intrattenere il pubblico in modi originali. In lizza anche i CNCO con MTV Unplugged At Home.

Tra i nominati anche Harry Styles per il video di Harry Styles “Adore You”.
